This $11,000 scooter, which runs on nickel metal hydride batteries, can hit 62 miles per hour, go from 0 to 30 miles per hour in 3.5 seconds, and can be recharged in 2.5 hours from a standard outlet.

It will go about 68 miles at 25 mph before needing a recharge and, like other scooters and motorcycles, you can store helmets and other items in an empty space below the seat. The bike is powered by a hub motor on the rear wheel.

Q: What is the retail price?
A: $11,000

Q: When will you ship to me?
A: Deliveries will start in the second quarter of 2007, with volume increasing over the summer.

Q: Why reserve my scooter now?
A: Three reasons:

    1. You lock in the price at the current level.
    2. You secure your place in line.
    3. The deposit is currently $1000.

Q: Can I transfer my order priority to someone else?
A: Sorry, deposits are not transferable. The vehicle will be registered to the person placing the order.

Q: Can I get it shipped to my home?
A: In most cases, that is possible.

Q: Can I have the scooter shipped to a customization shop?
A: You may.

Q: Will they be able to reprogram the bike to make it faster?
A: No. All electrical components are sealed and cannot be altered. The performance of the vehicle has been developed over years of programming and testing and it cannot be altered.

Q: Will the scooters have serial numbers?
A: The Vectrix vehicle is a registered motor vehicle and therefore has a DOT approved VIN #.

Q: Can I change colors, models or options before taking delivery?
A: You can change the color and options at any time prior to shipment. Vectrix has a flexible manufacturing system that allows each factory order to be personalized.

Q: How many can I order at this time?
A: You may order as many as you like with a $1000 deposit for each scooter.

Q: Can I get a discount if I order multiply units?
A: Sorry no. The Vectrix product is in high demand so no discounts are available.

Q: Do I need a motorcycle license to drive a Vectrix? To order one?
A: Yes. The Vectrix Electric Maxi Scooter is a powerful machine and a motorcycle license is required to operate this vehicle. You may place your deposit without a license, but Vectrix will not deliver a vehicle to someone who cannot provide proof of insurance and/or a driver's license with a motorcycle endorsement.

Q: I do not have a motorcycle license. How do I get one?
A: There are two ways. Option one is to go to the DMV and take both a written and driving test (the process varies state to state). The second option is to sign up for a course with the Motorcycle Safety Foundation (http://www.msf-usa.org/). The MSF course teaches many important lessons and is certified by the DMVs in all 50 states. Once you complete the course, you are given a certificate that the DMV will honor to give you a new license with a motorcycle endorsement. Vectrix highly recommends the second option. It provides a safe learning environment and is a lot more fun!

Q: Can I order any options?
A: Anyone who places an order with a deposit will have an opportunity to customize their order with aftermarket options, such as helmets, protective and Vectrix Logo clothing, top boxes and other storage accessories. We will also offer reusable shipping containers and solar charging stations.

Q: How long has Vectrix and People Powered Machines been in business?
A: Both Vectrix and People Powered Machines were founded over ten years ago. With a new partnership to deliver high-performance two-wheel electric vehicles on the market, we are excited that our product is finally coming to market as the premier product in this new vehicle class.

Q: What will happen to my deposit? Will Vectrix use it for cash flow?
A: No. All deposits will be put into an escrow account, from which refunds are available upon request.

Q: How do you respect my privacy?
A: All financial and personal information collected through the ordering process will be treated with the utmost confidentiality. We will not provide the enthusiast list or the deposit list to any third parties. You will receive periodic announcements and offers (which you can shut off at any time) but only from Vectrix.

As the Massachusetts/North Shore Vectrix dealer, People Powered Machines requires proof of motorcycle license and insurance prior to delivery. The Massachusetts motorcycle rider licensing requirements are:
